Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect personal data — written to be read, not skimmed past.
1. Who we are
Codebyte Ltd. (trading as CodeByte Studio) is a software engineering studio based in Israel. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Privacy and compliance contact: privacy@codebyte.co.il
2. What we collect
Contact-form data
When you submit the contact form, you provide your name, email address, and message, and optionally your company, project type, budget range, and timeline. We collect this only to respond to your enquiry.
Usage and analytics data
With your consent only, we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to collect aggregated page-view and performance metrics. These tools do not load until you accept analytics cookies.
Technical data
Our hosting provider processes IP addresses, browser/device information, and server error logs as part of operating and securing the site. Under Amendment 13 to the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, online identifiers such as IP addresses are personal data, and we treat them accordingly.
3. How and why we use it
- To respond to project enquiries and communicate with you.
- To deliver, operate, secure, and improve this website.
- To understand aggregate site usage — only with your analytics consent.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your enquiries or any data you submit to train AI models.
4. Sub-processors
We share data only with the service providers required to run this site:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Hosting, content delivery, error logs; analytics and performance metrics (consent-gated). | Global edge network (USA-headquartered) |
| Supabase Inc. | Database that stores your contact details and enquiry as a lead in our CRM. | European Union region |
| Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) | Transactional email delivery — enquiry confirmations and follow-ups. | USA |
When you submit the contact form, your details and enquiry are stored as a lead in our CRM (Supabase) and we send you a confirmation email (Resend). See section 13 for how we may follow up on an enquiry.
5. Cookies and consent
- Strictly necessary: your consent record (cb_consent) and your theme/language preferences (cb_theme, cb_lang). These keep the site working and remember your choices.
- Optional analytics: Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights load only after you explicitly accept them in the cookie banner or preferences.
You can change your choice at any time via in the footer.
6. Data retention
We keep contact-form enquiries for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting engagement, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact unless a project contract requires otherwise. Analytics data is aggregated and retained per Vercel’s retention policy. Consent records are kept for 12 months, after which you are asked again.
7. Your rights
Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, you have the right to access data held about you (Section 13) and to request correction or deletion of inaccurate data (Section 14).
If the GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, objection, and restriction of processing.
You may withdraw your consent (for example, to analytics cookies) at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. To exercise any right, email privacy@codebyte.co.il. We respond within 30 days.
8. Supervisory authority
You may lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (PPA). EU residents may also contact their local data protection authority.
9. International transfers
Israel benefits from a European Commission adequacy decision, so data can flow between the EU/EEA and Israel without additional safeguards. Where our sub-processors process data outside Israel or the EEA (e.g. Vercel’s global edge network), transfers rely on the provider’s standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
10. Minors
This site is a business-to-business service and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors; if you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above, and where required we will ask for your consent again.
12. Contact
Codebyte Ltd. (CodeByte Studio), Israel.
13. Enquiry follow-up emails
If you send us an enquiry through the contact form and we do not hear back, we may send you up to two short follow-up emails — typically around 3 and 7 days after your last contact — to check whether you would still like our help. These are a continuation of the enquiry you started, not marketing: we never use them to advertise unrelated services or add you to a newsletter.
Legal basis. We rely on our legitimate interest (and yours) in responding to an enquiry you initiated. The processing is limited and expected: it is directly about the request you sent us.
Your control. Every follow-up includes a one-click unsubscribe link that needs no login. We also stop automatically the moment you reply or we update your enquiry, and we send no more than two follow-ups in total. You can also ask us to suppress all email at any time by writing to privacy@codebyte.co.il.
Retention. Follow-up records are kept with your lead under the retention period in section 6. You have the rights of access, correction, and removal described in section 7; to exercise them, or to request deletion, email privacy@codebyte.co.il. We respond within 30 days.
